Identity Theft

The thief only comes to steal, kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance [to the full, till it overflows]- John 10:10

The devil is a thief that comes to steal, kill and destroy your identity. His goal is to get you out of God‘s perfect will so that you can believe his lies and deception. Be careful who your listening to or who speaks into your life. You have to silence and shut down every voice that comes into your mind that is not of God and you need to disconnect from every negative relationships that are speaking evil against you and sabotaging your destiny.

Your identity is in Christ not in the world or people. When you let things control you most of the time they become your master and you end up letting them define you.

How many times has the enemy lied to your mind and called you something that your not and you believed him?. Lets look at the story of Eve in the Bible when she was deceived by the serpent.

Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden’?”

The woman said to the serpent, “We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, but God did say, ‘You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.’”

“You will not certainly die,” the serpent said to the woman. “For God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”

When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it. Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they realized they were naked; so they sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves.

Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the Lord God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from the Lord God among the trees of the garden. But the Lord God called to the man, “Where are you?”

He answered, “I heard you in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; so I hid.”

And he said, “Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree that I commanded you not to eat from?”

The man said, “The woman you put here with me—she gave me some fruit from the tree, and I ate it.”Then the Lord God said to the woman, “What is this you have done?”The woman said, “The serpent deceived me, and I ate.”- Genesis 3:1-13.

As we have read in the scripture above Eve forgot who she was in Christ and believed the lies of the enemy (the serpent). She forgot that her identity was in Christ. The devil used God’s word against Eve and made her think that she was not good enough and lied to her that God was withholding the truth from her and she believed him. The devil is the father of lies and deception.

Many times when you don’t know who you are in Christ we become vulnerable to the devils tactics and it’s easy to get destructed by the out side noise. Especially when you have received rejection from you friends and people you have found yourself doubting who you are. You were made in the image of God everything about you is perfect because you look like God. Don’t entertain or allow the enemy lies in your mind and heart that cause you to doubt who you are.

The Bible says..I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.- Galatians 2:29

Always remember the enemy’s mission is to steal your identity and robe you of God’s best. He is working day and night by using people to attack your looks, character , who you are and belief. But always be alert and walk in God’s discernment and He will protect you from the the evil one.

Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.- 1 Peter 5:8.

Just like Eve in the Bible, Have you ever been deceived by the devils lies and you found yourself making decisions you thought you would never make? May be you were rejected,May be when you where a child there certain things your parents said to you and you doubted your worth, maybe it was a co-worker, May be it was your wife or husband and may be the friends you trusted. Whatever rejection or negative lie they declared upon your life don’t believe it because you are a perfect reflection of God. The Bible says… He says you are fearfully and wonderfully made- Psalm 139:14.

Nothing will ever separate you from the love of God. Believe what God says about you not man. Your validation is in Christ not this world. He says that nothing can separate you from His love- Romans 8:35. Don’t let the enemy steal your identity. You’re identity is in Christ alone. Believe in God’s love for you and know He knows what’s best for you.

Stay connected to God, draw near to Him, seek Him and you will discover your true identity is Him.

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”- Jeremiah 1:5

You are a child of God, created and molded in His image and no devil in hell can steal that because you were blood bought by the blood of Jesus Christ who died on the cross for you because He loves you so much. Your identity is the lord and no one can change that.
