Many times its hard to hold on to your faith and trust God when you are going through pain and troubled times in your life. As a christian i know God tells us to be thankful in all things but sometimes that’s the hardest thing to do when you are really going through it. But even in the worst of situations God what us to trust Him and believe He has a better plan for us because he does.
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. Jeremiah 29:11-12
We may not see what God is up to or what His plans are, many times we don’t even trace and feel Him especially in hard times. That’s when you need to seek Him and sit still in His presence and trust that He is working out things for you behind the scenes. You are going to make it through anything because He who holds your future is stronger and more powerful than anything you’re facing right now. God is releasing sunshine in the midst of your darkness and you are going to smile and be happy again.
Lets look at the story of Job in the bible. He was a man who had everything anyone could wish for: He had Money, a good name, health, and a beautiful family. But then Satan the accuser went to God and asked for permission to mess with Job’s life. Tragedy struck and Job lost everything. Then, a debilitating disease that left his whole body covered with painful boils came in to finally kill him (or that was what the devil first thought). However, Job stayed loyal to God’s will and sovereignty……Read Job 1:13-22
It looks like everybody else wanted him to quit and die and called him mean and hateful words like loser and they didn’t want to be around him because he was going through hard times. But even though all the shame and rejection he went through his faith in God never wavered. God’s response to Job’s loyalty went so viral that it ended up in the bible as a live example of how God rewards faithfulness, true faith and trust. He didn’t rebuke his illness in the name of God, He just looked up with patience to our Sovereign God, waited for his deliverance and furthermore, blindly trusted in God, even if his deliverance was death in public humiliation. We read on Job 42:10-12 “…. the Lord restored his fortunes and gave him twice as much as he had before and restored all he has lost.
I want to encourage today to trust God no matter what you’re facing. God sees you and He will reward your trust in Him. God never promised us this world would be easy. The good news is no matter what you face God is with you always and He is going to restore all that you have lost and give you a double portion of the blessing the enemy tried to steal from you. I know its hard and painful but don’t quit or give up but Trust God no matter what because in it there is a great reward.
